Why Common Ground mediation is now divorceright.com
Far too often, our society’s attitudes towards divorce can be slightly shaming and closed-minded. Though most people get married with the goal of staying married, many do not get married with the goal of staying happy. It is inevitable that couples continue to grow after they say I do, and in an ideal world, they would grow together. However, there are times and circumstances where couples grow apart. In these circumstances, sometimes the best course of action is to accept that this a one-time love isn’t necessarily a forever love. In these situations, simply admitting that a change of heart, rather than death, is reason to part, can be the hardest part.
One of the reasons that makes divorce so stressful is being able to answer the question, “Should I get divorced?” Over 60% of people that are interviewed one year after their divorce claim they wish they would have tried harder. Nobody wants to make this decision and later regret it. However, as human beings, we must simply enjoy the love we have while it lasts. Once the love has left a relationship, both partners deserve the chance to look for love again and the most peaceful and simplest way to do this is through divorce mediation. Meeting with a unbias, understanding, and fair divorce mediator can logically and reasonably help you navigate next steps so that both parties can walk away feeling resolved and hopeful for the future.
At Common Ground divorce mediation, we feel it is better to be able to look back on a past love with fondness and warmth, rather than letting it expire and sour. We offer a variety of divorce coaching services to help you throughout the different stages and emotions of the divorce process, which include:
